About us
Alan is a Chartered Engineer CEng MEI and a member of the Energy Institute; He was awarded the special designatory title Chartered Energy Engineer following work carried out on Harmonics in large DC electric motors in 2005.
As an Energy Institute Chartered Energy Manager, CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant for building operation and an ESOS Lead Assessor he has carried out numerous energy surveys of industrial processes and associated buildings, including ESOS compliance and (IGA) investment grade audits for EPC (Energy Performance Contracts).
His work has included; specification, sizing and project managing the installation of steam boilers, Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems, heating systems for hospitals including biomass boilers, investigatory work on power distribution systems including transformer upgrades, lighting design for upgrades in schools and office buildings.
Alan has undertaken training in Health and Safety; NEBOSH National General Certificate (NGC) and National Construction Certificate (NCC), Prince2 project management and air conditioning equipment inspections. He has also successfully undertaken CIBSE ISO50001 Energy Management System training and assessment. Alan is an associate of the Energy Managers Association.
His background prior to becoming an Energy Engineer and Energy Management Consultant, was is in the design and operation of; gas, oil and electric thermal processing equipment, working extensively in the Aerospace, General Metallurgical and Glass Processing industries.
